I represent James Goodwin, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Goodwin. My father was attached to the garrison in Pensacola with His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot. The 31st was an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. They arrived in 1765. I was baptized – most likely as an infant – on September 5, 1768. My baptism was recorded by Rev. Nathanial Cotton, minister of West Florida at the time.
