James Fairlie

I represent James Fairlie. I lived in Pensacola during the British colonial period. I appeared on a list of Pensacola townspeople for February 1780, where I was identified as a merchant. My name appears on some lists and petitions as Farley or Farlich. In my 1778 petition for a grant of land on Bayou Pierre, I stated I was from Virginia and had come down in 1776. I owned a distillery below Norfolk but the rebels burned it, forcing me to come seek asylum in the south as a Loyalist refugee.
