James Blair

I represent James Blair. I was a musician of the band with His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. I was stationed in the garrison at Pensacola having arrived with the regiment in the spring of 1770. The 16th, unfortunately, had just as many problems with illness as the rest of the army regiments that came to Pensacola. I died of flux (a term used to describe a severe form of dysentery) on November 18, 1770. I probably still lie buried in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
