Henry Legg

I represent Henry Legg. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British period. I was a carpenter hired from New York to work in West Florida but decided to stay on as the war intensified up north. In a growing colony like Pensacola, with a shipyard and houses constantly under construction, a carpenter had plenty of work. I appear on two lists: one being the list of Pensacola inhabitants for February 1780, and one being the list the Spanish made of householders remaining in the town at the time of the capitulation in May 1781.
