I represent Farquhar McGillivray. I was a resident of West Florida during the British period and a member of the ubiquitous and prosperous McGillivray clan. There was even more than one Farquhar McGillivrays floating around the American south during this time. I was a cousin to Lachlan Lia, the father of the famed Alexander. I started out in Charleston, but by 1767 I was in Mobile working with my brother John in his Indian trading firm. I married my wife, Amy in 1769. I had returned to Scotland by 1780, though my son, Daniel remained in America. Some records show that I became a Presbyterian minister.
