Elizabeth Augusta Carrique

I represent Elizabeth Augusta Carrique. I was the wife of Lt. Richard Carrique of His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. The 16th arrived in Pensacola in the spring of 1770 and stayed through the surrender of the city in May 1781. In April 1776, I petitioned for a grant of land in my own name, 500 acres to adjoin the lands of Mary Ogden on Fairchild’s Creek in Natchez. I had been a resident for several years at that time.
