I represent Edward Haywood. I was a musician with His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. I was stationed in the garrison at Pensacola, having arrived with the regiment in the spring of 1770. The 16th, unfortunately, had just as many problems with illness as the rest of the army companies that came to Pensacola. I died, likely of illness, on July 29, 1770. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
