I represent James Marsh. I was a Captain in His Majesty’s 46th Regiment and a resident of British West Florida. I was an ally of Lt. Gov. (and acting Governor) Montfort Browne when he appointed me to the West Florida Council in spring 1767. This council not only advised the governor, but sat as the Upper House in the provincial General Assembly.
