Capt. George Maxwell

I represent George Maxwell. I was a captain and company commander in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot. The 31st was an infantry company; we joined the garrison in Pensacola in 1765 and we stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. I was commissioned as a captain on July 18, 1764 and was married to Anne Hancocke in Twyning, Gloucestershire, on April 8, 1765. I died there in 1779.
