Andrew Alsopp

I represent Andrew Alsopp, a resident of British Pensacola. I was married to Sarah and we had a daughter named Mary in January 1770. In 1765, we were granted Lot 162 in town, on the corner of Charlotte and Harcourt streets (today’s Alcaniz and Intendencia). While my occupation is not specified in the available records, I signed as a member of a group of four men “employed by his Excellency the Governor and Council to Survey the Government House in the Stockaded Fort at Pensacola” on September 28, 1770. When young Sarah Forward became an orphan, I took her in as an apprentice for seven years.
