I represent Rebecca Matthews. My husband, Mathias, served in His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. We joined the garrison at Pensacola in the spring of 1770. Matthias and I had a daughter named Christiana. She was baptized as an infant on November 10, 1770, but died on November 16. She probably still lies in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
