I represent one of Mrs. Main‘s two children enumerated with her in the Return of Women & Children, 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Hodgson‘s Company, September 1768. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1765 and stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. My father’s name was not given in the return, but according to the August 1768 muster roll for the 31st, it was Pvt. Thomas Main.
