I represent Thomas Jervoise. I was a sailor on HMS Port Royal, taken prisoner by the Spanish. More than likely that happened when the Port Royal – which had been stripped of its guns and transformed into a prison ship – was captured by the Spanish on April 3, 1781. I died in imprisonment on April 18, 1781.
