I represent Hannah Ogilvy. I was the wife of Henry Ogilvy. We married in Charleston, SC before coming down to West Florida. We had several children, including Henry, who was a shipmaster in Charleston; Alexander; and infant Harriet. In 1778, I made a plea to the provincial council for a grant of land, saying I needed it to save my family from starvation. The council rejected my petition, saying that I had a husband. Well, that husband died in Pensacola in 1779. His estate was probated in Britain and I was settled as Executrix in 1784. By that time, I had remarried to a man named David Scott.
