I represent Elizabeth Goodwin. My husband, Richard, was attached to the garrison in Pensacola with His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot. The 31st was an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. We arrived in 1765. We had a son named James. James was baptized – most likely as an infant – on September 5, 1768. His baptism was recorded by Rev. Nathanial Cotton, minister of West Florida at the time.
