I represent Anthony Forster. I was a captain in His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot, having arrived with the regiment in the spring of 1770. I was commissioned a lieutenant in the 60th on January 1, 1766; and as a captain on May 20, 1771. In Ensign Robert Farmar’s journal of the siege of Pensacola is the following entry for 7 MAY 1781: “About 2 o’clock p.m. a shell from the enemy’s flank battery came in at a window of one of the barrack rooms of the adv. [Advanced] Redoubt which killed Lt. Carroll & wounded Capt. Forster of the 16th Regt.”
