I represent George Dorman. I was a volunteer in the Maryland Loyalists Regiment. The regiment was raised in 1777, and I joined up at the first of March 1778 with Captain Isaac Costen’s company. We didn’t arrive in Pensacola until December 1778. When we did, many of us were sick with smallpox, possibly contracted during our stop in Jamaica. We were quarantined in the bay, and many of us died. I am one of several with a death date in February 1779 (the 7th), all of us victims of the epidemic.
