Pvt. Ralph Tunks

I represent Ralph Tunks. I was a private in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. John Ross‘ company. I was born in Northfield, Worcestershire, England about 1735. Baptismal records indicate Pvt. John Tunks was probably my brother. My wife was the Mrs. Tunks enumerated in the Return of Women & Children for the 31st Regiment, Capt. John Ross’ company. My wife may have been the Jane Tunks that appears in the ledger books of Pensacola merchants Richard and Caleb Carpenter. I retired from service in 1788 after 31 years service. I was a tailor by trade.
