I represent Phillips Comyn. I was born in 1743 in London, the son of Thomas and Eleanor Comyn. I came to West Florida with my brothers, Valens and Frederick, to handle the business affairs of my father (who stayed in London), but I eventually had land and holdings of my own. I traded a little in textiles and rum, but my main concern was my plantation of almost 2,000 acres on the Comite River. I was appointed to the Upper House of the provincial Council during its 4th, 5th, and abortive 6th sessions, spanning from spring of 1770 to spring of 1772.
