I represent Isabella Chesnut. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British colonial period. My husband, Samuel, was attached to the garrison with the 16th Regiment of Foot. I was about 50 years old on May 22, 1771, when I died of a “violent contusion” said to be from my husband. The available records do not show what justice he might have met. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
