I represent the child of Mrs. Burney. She was among the women enumerated in the Return of Women & Children, 31st Regiment of Foot, Lt. Col. Walsh‘s Company, in Sept 1768. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1765 and stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. My father was not identified in the Return.
