Archibald Scott Bruce

I represent Archibald Scott Bruce, the son of James and Isabella Bruce. I was born on December 23, 1770. My father was Customs Collector at the Port of Pensacola from 1764 until the fall of Pensacola in May 1781, and served on the Council of West Florida from its inception. We also had a plantation on the Amite River in Mississippi, so the family may have gone back and forth. After the war, when we had lost everything, we followed many Loyalists in settling in Nova Scotia.
