I represent John Brasher. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British period. I appear on a list of Pensacola inhabitants in February 1780, where I am identified as an “artificer,” or skilled craftsman. I am not listed on the Spanish census of the town after the capitulation on May 10, 1781. This may mean I had property elsewhere in West Florida to return to, or I may have been among the colonists who were rumored to have headed out to Georgia just before the surrender of Pensacola.
