Israel Boardman

I represent Israel Boardman. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British period. In August of 1768 I petitioned the council to be granted seven islands containing 700 acres in the east branch of the Middle River (Blackwater). In my petition, I declared my family to consist of a wife and seven children. My name appears in the 1767-1768 ledger books of the Richard and Caleb Carpenter, who were merchants in Pensacola; I purchased vinegar and molasses from them. Years later, in 1783, I would marry Elizabeth Carpenter, daughter of Richard and his second wife. The Carpenter brothers had moved their families out to Manchac, and then Natchez. We had six children.
