I represent Ann Bell. I departed from the Port of London the week of 7-14 AUG 1774 on Success’s Increase to come to West Florida. I was identified as a Spinster – which, by 1774, had come to mean “unmarried woman” and not a woman who spins wool. I was 21 years old, from London, my stated intention was “to settle.”
