I represent Matthew Bass, the son of James and Mary Bass. I was baptized with my sister Mary and my brother Daniel on August 28, 1768. We were all residents of Pensacola during the early years of the British colonial period. My family had a lot on Bute Street at Gloucester (now Government Street at Cevallos).
