Sgt. John Baker

I represent Sgt. John Baker, a member of the garrison at Pensacola during the British period. My name appears in the Carpenters’ ledger book in late 1767 and early 1768 purchasing rum and soap. I may also be the John Baker of the 31st Regiment of Foot who was married to Rebecca. We had a son, Silas, who died on September 11, 1768.
