James Slack

I represent James Slack. I was the master of a schooner in British West Florida. A schooner is a larger vessel than a sloop and was preferred for trade because of its cargo capacity, so I probably ran a trade route in the Gulf, the Caribbean, and into the Atlantic. I drowned and was buried in Pensacola on July 5, 1768. I may still lie in an unmarked grave in the city.
