I represent Mary Simpson. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British colonial period, and my husband, John, was a tavern keeper. John and I had five children: Thomas, Sarah, and John were all baptized on July 14, 1768; Francis was baptized on December 6, 1768; and Andrew was baptized on December 16, 1770. The last two were probably baptized as infants. My husband’s name appears on the list the Spanish made of Pensacola householders still in the town at the time of capitulation in May 1781, so our family were long-time settlers.
