I represent Mrs. Ross. I was among the women enumerated in the Return of Women & Children, 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Ross‘s Company, September 1768. While it is tempting to assume I was the Captain’s wife, the circumstances under which the Return was made imply I was actually the wife of Pvt. William Ross of the same company. There were no children enumerated with me.
