Thomas Peplon

I represent Thomas Peplon. I was soldier in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Francis Vignoles‘ company The 31st was an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. We arrived in 1765, and the rest of the regiment stayed (with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769) until it was transferred out of West Florida in 1772. I died on June 2, 1766, probably of one of the many diseases that swept through the population of Pensacola in the early years of the colony. I likely still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
