I represent John Pane. I was a private in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Maj. Edward Bromley‘s company. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1765, and we immediately began sustaining losses to diseases like yellow fever and dysentery. I died of scurvy on November 28, 1766. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola
